Lovegroves offices are situated at 11 Polygon Road, St Heliers, Auckland. The firm was established in 1967 by Claude Lovegrove.

Claude Lovegrove had been active in legal practice for many years. He was well known and respected in legal circles and had held community roles such as Chairman of the Auckland Electric Power Board. Upon retirement, Claude found that he missed his involvement in legal practice, and “hung his shingle” in St Heliers, when he was 70 years of age.

Claude was later joined by Warren Finn and practiced until shortly before his death in 1977.

Warren Finn was joined by Kevin Harborne in 1982, and Richard Burrell subsequently joined Lovegroves in 1996. Richard sadly passed away in October 2020.  Audrey Billington joined in January 2020 and Craig Stuhlmann joined in 2023 with Kevin Harborne in partnership.

Lovegroves is the longest established legal firm in St Heliers. Although its clients are spread throughout Auckland (and further afield), many live in the eastern bays area or have originally worked or lived in that area
